Austin, TX- Popular foodie event, Music to Your Mouth, is going on the road and making its first stop in Austin, TX! On Thursday, April 24, 2014 wine, food & music lovers will converge at Rough Hollow, an intimate waterfront community located in Lakeway, TX for Music to Your Mouth:Austin. This event is well-known for its creative fusion of music and food appreciation. Rough Hollow is pleased to welcome renowned chefs Brandon Carter, Ashley Cope and John Currence as well as the musical stylings of Kristian Bush, one half of the country-pop duo, Sugarland.

Along with the acoustic set and impressive 5-course meal, California-based Revana Family Vineyards will join Music to Your Mouth:Austin; offering guests the opportunity to sample some of the winery’s most popular selections while enjoying their meal.

A proceed of Music to Your Mouth:Austin ticket sales will benefit Lake Travis Labor of Love, a local charity founded in 2007 that works to identify local needs, inspire community involvement, and distribute contributions through projects that assist and empower families in the Lake Travis area. For each ticket sold, $20 will be donated to this hardworking organization.

For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: Tickets for this event are priced at $200.

About Music to Your Mouth: Southern food, perhaps more than any other regional cuisine in America, has long been recognized for its rich diversity, and history as the stew pot of cultural influences inherited from authentic cultures of the region and across the world. Through the Music to Your Mouth series, we create opportunities for chefs, artisans, winemakers, and members of our community to experience the stories that surround food, and the bonds forged through sharing a meal.

St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, and we’ve been invited to a few St. Patty’s Day parties. We like to come bearing gifts, and with these Chocolate Whiskey and Beer Cupcakes from Smitten Kitchen, we’re guessing that we’ll be welcomed with open arms!

Not only is the icing flavored with delicious Bailey’s Irish Cream, but your treat recipients will be greeted to the surprising, amazing filling inside: chocolate ganache. We guarantee that everyone will be begging for the recipe, but these can be your little secret!

What You'll Need:
For the Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes

1 cup stout (such as Guinness)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-process)
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
2/3 cup sour cream

Ganache Filling (Updated to double it, based on many commenters suggestions — thanks!)
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate
2/3 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1 to 2 teaspoons Irish whiskey (optional)

Baileys Frosting (see Recipe Notes)
3 to 4 cups confections sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup or 4 ounces) unsalted butter, at room temperatue
3 to 4 tablespoons Baileys (or milk, or heavy cream, or a combination thereof)

Special equipment: 1-inch round cookie cutter or an apple corer and a piping bag (though a plastic bag with the corner snipped off will also work)

Find the recipe here!
