Summer in Austin: 5 Adventures we Love

School's out, summer vacation has begun and Austin is sizzling!  We love that there are so many summer activities to explore in and around Rough Hollow and the Texas Hill Country.  We named a few of our favorite places to cool off below.  Help us complete our list of hot summer adventures by adding yours in the comments.

Dive into the waters of Lake Travis:  boating, wakeboarding, waterskiing, paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking are popular water recreation activities on Lake Travis. 

Hike to Gorman Falls:  feel the mist from this 60-foot-high waterfall that cascades down limestone cliffs and moss and fern draped grotto.

Find a swimming hole:  Hamilton Pool, Krause Springs and Barton Springs are popular for Austinites.  Try the rope swing to spice up your adventure.

Kayak the Medina River:  paddle through tunnels of towering bald cypress trees and spend a couple hours of bliss on this uncrowded river.

Relax poolside at the Grille at Rough Hollow:  for members of Rough Hollow, guests can enjoy their burgers and beers served up poolside.
